Teen Health Makeover

This competition is open to all High School Juniors in Maricopa County, Arizona.

Goal: To support High School Seniors to recognize the need for a healthy lifestyle and help other     teens to live healthy

What to do

  1. Prepare a winning proposal of how you will help at least 25 of your classmates stay fit.
  2. Keep it to a maximum of 5 typed single spaced pages.

Your proposal should include (a) literature review (b) specific objectives, (c) a plan of action, (d) a budget that must fit within the award of the FFH program and, (e)  evaluation of your results. It should be a plan that you can implement in the first 6 months of your Senior Year at school, preferably during school hours at those times that you have Physical Education or Field Work. Make plans to involve your school authorities.

Deadline: Entries have to be submitted by May 2011, either by post or as an email attachment.

The Teen Health Makeover program will make the award to three proposals judged to be the best in the county - one from each of three schools. The judges’ decision is final.

Award ceiling is $4,000 to each of the students to help them implement their plans of action

In addition, the school that produces the best result will be awarded an additional $2,000 to be shared between the winning school and the winning student.
